Birmabright Weekend 2007, Kutna Hora, Czech Republic

An idea sprang to my mind when reading through the tens of topics on the local Land-Rover forum - there was no old Landy meeting in the Czech Republic, despite the fact that the old "leafers" numbered tens of vehicles by then.

First, there was the location - where to organize such an event? I put up a poll on the forum, trying to look for a location close to the majority of the Series owners. In the end I found out that the majority anyway live in Prague or its immediate vicinity, with a few others scattered around the country. Prague would be the obvious choice as the capital, however, in the end I decided for Kutna Hora, my birth place and my home town for the first 21 years of my life.

The response was quite enthusiastic and in the end, 8 Series Land-Rovers showed up, despite an uncertain weather. With the greenlaning trip along lanes on which I was used to walk our dog, everyone seemed to enjoy the meeting, with nothing but old Landys around. Everyone had an obvious topic to discuss, which kept the conversation running throughout the meeting. On Saturday afternoon everyone needed to leave, therefore the meeting was cut short, however, considering it was the first event like that, it was a success.
