Workshop Meet #4

The fourth installment of the local workshop meet was supplemented with a few hours of offroad driving at the former AA rocket base, which is close to the location where the workshop meets take place.

This turned out to be the most eventful part of the workshop meet, as we were only one of two leaf-sprung vehicles present at the meeting. We got stuck in a large puddle of muddy water reminiscent of white coffee, but after drying out the distributor we emerged from this predicament under our own power, which was a huge relief. After everyone around (my wife and our friend Tomas) tried out driving the Land-Rover, another leafer arrived, a 1953 Series One carrying Martin. He proved to be much more courageous with his own motor and showed us how capable his driving and his motor were off the road.

Eventually, I tried driving a Series One myself, while Martin tried out my Series Two. While I discovered how user-unfriendly S1 seems in comparison with Bernie, Martin found out how nice and easy an S2 is to drive.
